A voice like warm rain :)
Last night I dreamed of words. Words that filled the entire length of a page and kept on going. Endless, unstoppable words that glibly marched, careless of watching eyes. They did not exist for a purpose. They had no thought of glory or truth or beauty or unpaid bills. They simply were. They exulted in being. Glorious, beautiful, truthful, unfettered words. Words that evaporated with the first light of day, leaving me a myopic squinting at a distant page.
makailasmind asked: I saw that you like Wheel of Time among many other things I also enjoy :) Yay!
They are good, aren’t they? I’m a bit apprehensive about the last books since they’ve been written by someone else - someone I’ve never read before - but I’m sure if Brandon Sanderson wasn’t doing a good job they’d have sacked him by now ;)
Current obsession
Last year was a particularly good one for my book collection and I now have a bookshelf full of books that I can’t wait to read. But I’m caught fast in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series with no hope of escape until the last book is out. Oh, the suspense!
The prolificacy of youth is spent. It would seem what was mistaken for talent was merely teenage angst.
Still, we will go through the motions. Set these rusty wheels a-turning again and who knows what marvels may spew forth. “There can be miracles when you belieeeeve!” as some very shrill women once reminded us.
Listening to ‘Plus’ by Ed Sheeran. I bought the album after falling in love with ‘Lego House’, but on first listen it hasn’t really lived up to my (admittedly high) expectations. There are some lovely songs on it - ‘Small Bump’, ‘Give Me Love’ - but on the whole, the album is more mediocre than I had hoped for. Perhaps it will grow on me if I leave it on loop for a while.
I’m notorious for loving blogs and leaving them. But I’d like to walk with you now a while, if you’d care for the company.
